Sweater progress, next Aspen Hill men's knit group meeting

I may just call it a day and stay in bed for a while, tired of coughing, etc.

My size 2 baby cardigan sweater is progressing nicely having done the back and left front and half way up the right front having done the first two button holes, soon on the third one. Button holes in this project are knit 2, knit 2 together, yarn over, knit 2

or in knitting shorthand:
k2, k2tog, yo, k2.

Stockinette stitch means knit row 1, purl row 2, and next repeat row 1 and
row 2 in that order until finished working in stockinette stitch. results in "v" shaped stitches. Stockinette causes knit material to curl making it ideal for sweater body and sweater sleeves

sweater done in stockinette stitch with bottom, neck band, edges of the two fronts in garter stitch (6 stitches in that for the edges with stitch marker placed loosely on needle to mark out those 6 stitches) in from the edge's 6 stitches (which are in garter) the rest of row is in stockinette

back 12 inches tall start by casting on 57 stitches work for 1" in garter, place stitch marker to mark right side (RS) work through the next row in garter the go into stockinette stitch

fronts (cast on 32 stitches) 10 inches tall with 6 stitches placed on stitch hold and neck shaping for a while then remaining is done "work even" until the fronts are 12 inches tall same as back.

In "My First Sweater" class of next week,.. the class will be sewing the 2 fronts to the back, last class was neck shaping and placing stitch markers for button holes and practicing button holes.
